Diesel Transfer Tank to Pipeline Connection Protocol
1. Preliminary Inspection & Preparation
- 1Ensure tank is parked and stationary with all valves closed
- 2Inspect pipeline, joints, and seals for damage/blockage
- 3Prepare explosion-proof wrenches, sealing tape, and grounding clamps
- 4Verify pipeline and tank interface compatibility (diameter/connection type)
2. Connection Method Selection
-
Flange Connection:
- Align flanges with gasket in between
- Tighten bolts diagonally in 2-3 passes for even pressure
-
Quick Connector:
- Clean interfaces of oil/debris
- Align and push until "click" confirms lock engagement
-
Hose Connection:
- Use oil-resistant hose with ≥5cm overlap
- Secure with hose clamp 2cm from end
- Double clamps recommended for better sealing
3. Static Electricity Protection
- 1Connect bonding wire between tank and pipeline
- 2Ensure proper grounding (resistance ≤10Ω)
4. Post-Connection Testing
- 1Open tank valve 1/4 turn to check for leaks
- 2Apply soap solution to verify seal integrity
- 3Maintain stable pump pressure during transfer
- 4Post-transfer: Close valve → Disconnect → Collect residual diesel
- 5Never drain directly - use proper containment
Critical Safety Reminders
- No smoking or ignition sources within 15m
- Wear appropriate PPE (gloves, goggles, anti-static clothing)
- Maintain fire extinguisher within immediate reach
