Diesel Fuel Tank Refilling Procedure

Before Refilling

  • Use diesel that meets equipment requirements
  • Choose appropriate low-condensation grade for cold environments (-10#, -35#)
  • Clearly label tank with "DIESEL" to prevent mis-filling
  • Inspect tank exterior and refueling port, remove debris
  • Turn off engine and electronic equipment
  • Operate in well-ventilated area away from open flames
  • Use clean dedicated refueling equipment or gas station oil gun

During Refilling

  • Slowly unscrew refueling cap and place upside down
  • Insert refueling gun to bottom of tank and keep stable
  • Begin at low speed, reduce flow when nearing full
  • Stop at "safe capacity" (5%-10% below nominal volume)
  • When using barrels, filter fuel to prevent impurities

After Refilling

  • Ensure fuel cap is completely tightened and sealed
  • Clean residual fuel around tank
  • Record filling amount and time for consumption tracking
  • Start engine, verify fuel gauge operation
  • Check for leaks around tank
Emergency Procedure: If fuel leak occurs, immediately contain with sand. Never flush into sewer system.
