Diesel Fuel Tank Refilling Procedure
Before Refilling
- Use diesel that meets equipment requirements
- Choose appropriate low-condensation grade for cold environments (-10#, -35#)
- Clearly label tank with "DIESEL" to prevent mis-filling
- Inspect tank exterior and refueling port, remove debris
- Turn off engine and electronic equipment
- Operate in well-ventilated area away from open flames
- Use clean dedicated refueling equipment or gas station oil gun
During Refilling
- Slowly unscrew refueling cap and place upside down
- Insert refueling gun to bottom of tank and keep stable
- Begin at low speed, reduce flow when nearing full
- Stop at "safe capacity" (5%-10% below nominal volume)
- When using barrels, filter fuel to prevent impurities
After Refilling
- Ensure fuel cap is completely tightened and sealed
- Clean residual fuel around tank
- Record filling amount and time for consumption tracking
- Start engine, verify fuel gauge operation
- Check for leaks around tank
Emergency Procedure: If fuel leak occurs, immediately contain with sand. Never flush into sewer system.
