Fuel Storage & Preservation Guidelines
Best practices to prevent fuel deterioration and maintain quality
1. Storage Environment Control
- Store mobile fuel tanks in cool, well-ventilated areas
- Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight
- Keep away from fire/heat sources to minimize temperature fluctuations
- Maintain dry conditions to prevent water intrusion and emulsification
2. Tank Cleanliness
- Regularly clean fuel tanks of deposited impurities
- Ensure fueling tools and connections are clean before refueling
- Thoroughly clean unused tanks before refilling
- Remove deteriorated fuel residues and dirt
3. Fuel Selection & Handling
- Use only high-quality fuel with fewer impurities
- Plan storage based on fuel lifecycle
- Avoid long-term storage when possible
- Consider fuel stabilizers to inhibit oxidation/microbial growth
4. Proper Sealing
- Ensure tank caps and valves are in good condition
- Prevent air, moisture, and dust ingress
- Inspect and tighten seals after each use
- Regularly check and replace aging gaskets
