How to properly operate the bottom loading/unloading valve of a trailer tank

2025-10-29 Leave a message
Preparing for Operation
  • Ensure the Trailer Tank is parked stably, with handbrake engaged and wheels secured.
  • Wear oil-resistant gloves and safety glasses to protect skin and eyes.
  • Check the bottom loading/unloading valve and connecting pipes for damage, leaks, rust, or loose parts.
  • Clear debris around the valve to ensure unobstructed operating space.
Standardize Loading and Unloading Operations
  • When loading: slowly open the upstream valve, then gradually open the bottom loading/unloading valve.
  • Control the liquid flow rate to avoid static electricity or pipeline impact.
  • Closely observe liquid level changes during loading; close upstream valve first when capacity is reached.
  • When unloading: connect the unloading pipeline and ensure a proper seal before opening valves.
  • After unloading, close valves in sequence to avoid liquid residue or leakage.
Post-Operation Inspection
  • Promptly clean any residual liquid from valves and connections.
  • Check valve sealing surfaces for damage and signs of leakage.
  • If leakage is found, retighten the valve or replace sealing components.
  • Return valve operating handle to the closed position after operation.
  • Record loading/unloading time and volume for maintenance records.
Handling Operational Abnormalities
  • If a leak is detected: immediately stop operation and close the upstream valve.
  • For aging seals, replace promptly; for damaged valves, contact professionals.
  • If valve is stuck: do not force it; check for internal blockages.
  • If problem persists, stop the machine for inspection and repair.
