Diesel Transfer Tank Connection Procedure
Inspection Before Connection
- Confirm both the diesel transfer tank and refueling equipment are in static state
- Close all valves on both sides
- Check for oil, impurities or damage at oil outlets/inlets
- Verify electrostatic grounding device is intact (resistance < 10 ohms)
Adapter Connector Selection
- Select matching quick connectors, flanges or hose connections
- Ensure gaskets are intact to prevent leaks
- Never force connection if interfaces don't match - replace adapter instead
Standard Connection Steps
- Slowly open transfer tank outlet valve to purge air, then close
- Securely connect refueling equipment inlet hose to transfer tank outlet
- Tighten bolts/buckles with wrench
- Confirm tight connection before opening valves
- Open transfer tank valve first, then slowly open refueling equipment valve
- Control flow rate to prevent pressure surges
Process Monitoring & Completion
- Continuously monitor for leaks at connection points
- Watch pressure and level changes to avoid overpressure
- After refueling: Close transfer tank valve first
- Drain remaining diesel from lines before closing refueling equipment valve
- Disconnect hoses, clean interfaces and store properly
Safety Protection
- Absolutely NO open flames, smoking, or non-explosion-proof electrical equipment
- Fire extinguishers must be available on-site
- Operators must wear anti-static work clothes and gloves
Note: Always follow these procedures strictly to ensure safe and efficient operation when connecting diesel transfer tanks to refueling equipment.
