How to improve the sealing of steel tanks

The sealing of steel tanks can be improved from the following aspects:
1. Optimize design
Reasonably select the structure: adopt an integral or butt-jointed structure to reduce unnecessary welds and connection points and reduce the risk of leakage. At the same time, the shape and size of the tank should be reasonably designed to avoid stress concentration areas and prevent sealing failure due to deformation.
Design sealing structure: Design a suitable sealing structure according to the use requirements and medium characteristics of the tank. For example, adopt double-channel seal or lip seal and other structures to increase the reliability of sealing.
2. Select high-quality sealing materials
Sealing gasket: Select sealing gaskets with good elasticity, corrosion resistance and aging resistance, such as polytetrafluoroethylene gaskets, rubber gaskets, etc. According to the working pressure, temperature and medium of the storage tank, select the appropriate gasket material and specifications.
Sealant: Use high-performance sealants, such as silicone sealants, polyurethane sealants, etc. The sealant should have good adhesion, water resistance and chemical corrosion resistance, and be able to maintain good sealing performance under different working environments.
3. Strictly control the manufacturing process
Ensure welding quality: Use advanced welding technology and equipment to ensure the quality of the weld. During the welding process, the welding parameters should be strictly controlled to reduce welding defects such as pores, slag inclusions, cracks, etc., and ensure the density of the weld.
Surface treatment: Finely process and surface treat the sealing surface of the storage tank to improve the flatness and finish of the surface and ensure that the sealing surface and the sealing material can fit tightly.
4. Installation and maintenance
Correct installation: During the installation process, strictly follow the design requirements and installation specifications to ensure that the sealing parts are installed correctly and firmly. Avoid deformation or damage of the seals due to improper installation, which will affect the sealing performance.

Regular maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the storage tanks to promptly detect and deal with problems such as wear, aging and damage of the sealing parts. Clean and maintain the sealing surface to prevent impurities and corrosive media from affecting the sealing performance. At the same time, regularly perform pressure tests and leak detection on the storage tanks to promptly detect and repair potential leaks.
