Tank Inspection Procedure
Basic Visual Inspection
- Carefully inspect the tank surface for visible deformation, cracks, or dents.
- Observe for peeling or rust on the surface coating.
- Inspect the connections for oil stains indicating potential leaks.
- Check the operating status of functional components.
Note: Severe rust may conceal internal structural damage. Oil stains may indicate poor seals requiring further inspection.
Functional Component Testing
- Test the opening and closing flexibility of each valve.
- Observe the level gauge for clarity and accuracy.
- For tanks with metering devices, test data stability and accuracy.
Sealing Inspection
- Pressurize the tank and observe for pressure drops indicating leaks.
- Apply soapy water to suspected areas - bubbles reveal leaks.
- Inspect gaskets and seals for aging or damage.
Usage-Based Fault Analysis
- Note unusual noises during operation indicating wear.
- Observe fuel color and condition for contamination.
- Check for rust or impurity accumulation.
- Record performance under different operating conditions.
Performance issues in extreme temperatures may indicate component compatibility problems.
